Lacs bleu et noir

A cold morning and the temp was 8C at the start of the walk ( it was over 2000m) so we put on all the clothes we had! However, the sun soon came out and layers were shed.
The walk we'd found just went to the lakes and back, which involved going over a cold, but it soon became clear we could go past the lakes and then climb up to the ridge and return via Pic Tarbesou - so we did. Top 2364m so it was slow going but beautiful. Plenty of flowers, 2 in extras, and a stream of marsh marigolds ( I would have liked a pic but it was on a steep bit and I didn't want to stop).
Easy descent and then back down the twisty mountain road.
