Water Lily

A lovely cool start to the day, it was 14.9C and misty. I put a dark wash on and then I opened up all the doors and windows and cooled the bungalow down. I took the opportunity to tidy up the borders at the back, with lots of dead heading and weed and dead leaf removal and mowed the lawn. Washing on the line and 2nd wash on and it was warming up so I closed the bungalow up and had a catch up by phone with my friend L - we were due to meet in Ely today but we both have hayfever and both struggle in the heat so postponed for a third time (illness and torrential rain before). Then I did the same garden tidy up out the front of the house. By the time I'd finished after 3.5 hours I'd got a full garden bin for collection tomorrow...........and I was shattered! I watched two tight matches at Eastbourne this afternoon. It was so good to see Emma Raducanu beat her first top 10 player (and the no.2 seed), particularly as with injuries and time out she's currently ranked No.168, and Katie Boulter beat the No.5 seed. The sun didn't come out here until about 3.30, which kept the heat off the bungalow a bit. That was when I got the photo of the water lily on my pond which came out today.
