Cleethorpes for the day - very impressed
Forecast was for a heatwave, so we headed for the coast. A lovely refreshing sea breeze kept us cool and we spent a lovely time walking on ehe coast and relaxing on the beach. The tide goes out a heack of a way and when it comes in it can be very dangerous. Luckily for me the tide was on its way out. However, I decided against swimming as there was a mile walk to the water. But I did walk out and see the boats in the Humber Estuary. Fish and chips for a very late lunch/early tea meant that we could return to the chalet without having to cook. A bonus.
Next we visited Cleethorpes Country Park for a parkrun reckie. A beautiful park, which reminded me of West Malling parkrun. We walked one look of the 3 lap course, and shall look forward to returning for the parkrun.
Cleethorpes was a surprisingly lovely place. I was very impressed.
