Feeding frenzy

This bossy bullfinch is a formidable wee creature.  When he first appeared, the little birds scattered.  Now some sort of pecking order has been achieved and provided he gets the pick of the perches he lets the siskins and tits share with him.

Dare one mention the election? It seems so much like a foregone conclusion that I am wondering whether I will bother to vote.
