Colourful detail

It's been a very sunny day today and fairly hot.  I spent a little time on the allotment digging up the oxalis weeds that are growing profusely in certain areas.  It was so hot that I only lasted about an hour before returning for a late breakfast.

I then headed to a local garden centre and managed to buy a few courgette plants to replace the marrow plants and some interesting herbs.  That will be a job for tomorrow as it's still very hot.

In the afternoon I met up with a friend in Bicton gardens and we enjoyed a slow walk around the area taking the shady routes where possible.  By the late afternoon a cooler breeze appeared which was a relief.  I also popped in to visit a friend who has been unwell but will hopefully be on the road to recovery soon.

Todays blip is a macro of the colourful Bird of Paradise flower.
