Day 177/24. St John the Baptist

We got married in this ancient church, a lot of years ago. This is St John the Baptist Parish Church in North Baddesley.
This ancient church has stood on a hill for over a thousand years, providing a peaceful haven away from the villages that surround it with stunning views over the Hampshire countryside. In 1304 the Knights Hospitallers acquired the church with the right to appoint the incumbent and in 1348 North Baddesley became the headquarters of the Knights Hospitallers (Order of the Knights of St. Johns), remaining there until the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
