WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE LOOKING AT?
I like the sort of day when you can spend half an hour* trying to photograph a tiny brown beetle in the potato patch, and I like the kind of photography where it doesn't really matter if 75% of the image is out of focus. What counts is the time hanging out with the beetle.
Can't identify this fellow - advice welcome. He was about 8 mm long and a dull beige until you got close, when his elytron seemed like polished mahogany, as did his pronotum ( OK, I'm showing off now).
*Who am I kidding? Guests arriving in 10 minutes, hair dripping, cake not iced, neighbour moaning about the untidy state of our side of the hedge...
