The Feast Day of Saint John the Baptist.

The three main birthdays celebrated in the Universal Catholic Church are those of Lord Jesus, Mother Mary on 8th September and today St John the Baptist, the cousin and herald of the Lord and his message to repent and be baptised.

Today is lovely weather, 23.2c in the living room and 85f in the conservatory. The greenhouse is very hot , about 80f with the sliding door open. My strawberry plants are coming along well and the tubs of potatoes are needing regular watering. I have a few herbs in there and cosmos and sunflowers. Lettuce and rocket and coriander.

Earlier in the morning I walked to the canal. I saw the elderflower looking beautiful, a boat moored up beside the cafe and a dear black and white cat enjoying the sunshine in the shade of the old stone wall. He reminded me of Arthur our dear old cat.

While I was on my blip walk, Paul received the food order from Tesco and I helped him put it in the kitchen cupboards. We love ranch salad in this hot weather and cucumber. We are well stocked with Cornettos and Magnums.

Paul then mowed the front lawn for the second time this year. It looks very neat.

The cats both seem to know intuitively when it is breakfast time and lunchtime, and come home at the appropriate times. I put down a blue pet cool mat for them but neither cat sat down on it, not really sure why it was there.
Thank you for dropping by blip friends and enjoy the lovely weather. Remember your sun hat and sun glasses.
