Attempted Theft

Continuing the theme of mummy Blackbird feeding baby Blackbird, today's  blip is a split second shot which amazed me when I looked at it on screen.

The adult was feeding baby in the upper branches of a birch tree, supposedly away from danger.

An adult Sparrow took the opportunity to dart in and try to help itself to some easy pickings....Sparrows have to feed their young as well you know!  Most of this mouthful went to ground and there was then a frenzy to see who could get there first!.

I made sure there was plenty more for mum, who is almost feeding out my hand, and has actually two fledglings to satisfy.

It has been an interesting day!
