a lifetime burning

Backlit

Today I've been playing with trying to get some shots of  backlit reed warblers.  It's not easy.  It's hard enough manage to find a reed warbler that you can get a clear view of in the reed beds at the best of times.  But for this particular style of shot  you've also got to deliberately seek contra-jour positions and it's even harder to spot the birds with the bright sunshine behind them.

This is the sort of thing I was after, but I'm really trying to find one with a dewy backdrop of reeds  which might then result in some really magnificent bokeh.

I'll keep at it!
