A view from Jeanneb

A busy week in church

This morning we were back in church for the wedding of one of our congregation and choir members.

I’d passed the church yesterday on my way to the hairdressers and saw that the flower arch was in place and knew our flower ladies would be providing some of the wedding flowers in side.

You can see the lovely arrangement from Tuesdays funeral still in place, K was happy with it as her colours included purple. The arrangement is looking even more splendid as the lilies have opened.

The rows of chairs are embellished with net and white gypsophila and white flowers and birdcages on the window ledges but they may not have been K’s choice as after her wedding this morning,  there is a blessing for another couple in church. (Chris is verger and is still there)

We provided the choir and after the service we went outside to enjoy seeing the photographs being taken and confetti being thrown.

Whilst this was going on more flowers were arriving for the afternoon blessing. A huge arrangement of green and white flowers to replace the one featured in my blip! What a shame and a waste. We are lucky to get two weddings a year at our church it’s rather bizarre we have two in the same day.

I’m glad K and G had a lovely wedding and a nice day for it and were happy to enjoy the shared flowers.
Hopefully this afternoons’s bride will be happy too, the main party were having a fun meal  in The Malt last night whilst we were eating there. There were lots of toasts in Vietnamese where half of them are from.

We get to continue celebrating tonight with an evening buffet at the Craiglands in Ilkley, looking forward to it, I haven’t been there since my college ‘Going Down Ball’ which is a while ago!

A big Happy birthday to son in law John today, Eda had helped make him a cake and I got some pictures of it this morning. Hope they are having a fun Saturday - a year ago this weekend we were all celebrating his and my ‘big’ birthdays in the Lakes.
