Day 17

I've been tagging this sequence with "Road Trip" so here's the reality - taken on the road north, heading towards Lourdes. Lunch was in a supermarket car park, though admittedly in a special tree-lined section specifically for camping-cars, with picnic tables available. As it's been raining steadily since last evening, with thunder thrown in, we declined the opportunity to eat outdoors. The river to the right of the road is the Gave de Pau, which takes water from a number of tributaries, including the rivers we've been camping alongside. It looked quite idyllic on the way down last weekend. We're now at Bagnères de Bigorre, on hardstanding well away from any river, and hoping for a drier day tomorrow. Actually, we mustn't grumble, we've had really good weather up until now!
