Busy day at work. Read some interesting articles about generative AI and programming. It (AI) doesn't look all that promising. AI performance depends on context. AI might help less experienced programmers tackle more complex problems but that might well not be enough for the complexity typically tackled today. Especially when multiple systems interact. The other aspect I hadn't thought about is that something that AI might help you, code review, has a secondary benefit: the review not only helps the programmer iron out any issues (the AI might be able to help) but it also helps the reviewer understand what is going on, ie facilitating knowledge transfer.
