Cinnabar Moth

This afternoon I went up to the Butterfly Reserve (Magdalen Hill), but apart from a lot of Meadow Browns, ditto Marbled Whites, there were remarkable few butterflies around.  So I nearly posted a Marbled White, but in the end decided I wanted a second crack at them.  Here, therefore, is a Cinnabar moth instead.  I very much took to him.  (There's also a second shot of it in Extras because I did love seeing his scarlet underwings).  What a very handsome fella he is!

As you can see, I'm much later than usual posting, partly due to some disaster with the buses which kept me stuck up there longer than I should have been.  It goes without saying then that results of WFW24_11 will not be in my journal until tomorrow night as they certainly deserve more than a quick flick-though!
