Rat Run

My inner city upbringing in Edinburgh* has provided me with invaluable knowledge of how to get from place to place during peak touroid season with an absolute minimum of frustration.

I needed those skills this morning. My Blip is one of the closes which lead onto the High Street from the south, and I could then zip down Fleshmarket Close as I headed to St Andrew Square for a bus home.

No touroids were harmed during the making of this Blip.

I had been to the other Mosque Kitchen (yes, we have two) for a slap up lunch, as shown in one of the Extras. They do not do small portions... or maybe the guy just saw the look on my face and piled the plate high.

Lunch was the icing on the cake for a very pleasant (but brief) trip... excellent bus services, I bought a couple of books in Waterstones and even visited Valvona & Crolla to buy sausages.

The meeting which was the purpose of my visit turned out to be very positive and it is always gratifying when you hit it off with a complete stranger just because both of us approached the discussion from the same (constructive) perspective.

While mentioning perspectives, Edinburgh is always an easy place to pick up a Blip if the sun is shining, so my other Extra is one of those classic views taken from inside the Scottish National Gallery building.

* We lived in the leafy (and thoroughly boring) suburbs but my school was in the city centre
