Life is a Challenge!

"WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD"

Having looked up the theme for this week’s Wide Wednesday challenge just minutes before posting, I thought that the song title, “What a Wonderful World” fitted perfectly, made famous by the inimitable Louis Armstrong with his distinctive “gravelly” voice.

It was a beautiful morning with sunshine and blue skies, so once again, I popped out into the garden when I saw Mr. HCB busily planting up pots with Geraniums and Fuchsias.  I thought a wide angle shot taking in the corner that he sorted out a couple of weeks ago, our lovely Paul’s Scarlet rose on the fence and the gorgeous Blue Angel Clematis just above him would make a good wide Wednesday shot.

I was due to meet friends for coffee this morning and although Mr. HCB was also invited, he declined because he had a lot to do in the garden - and of course, the Cheltenham Cricket Festival is coming up soon, when he will be away for 4 days at a time!  We three ladies had a great time and were in the café for over 2 hours!!

Then I went for the first eye test at Leightons since my cataract surgery and saw Gill, a lovely optometrist who was amazing.  I told her how thrilled I was that I could see so well with my right eye and couldn’t wait to have my left one done.    She was equally thrilled that I had such good vision after the surgery and said she will get in touch with the Clinic and hopefully it won’t be too long before the left one is done.

All is well with my right eye, as far as the operation goes, but hay fever is playing havoc at the moment with eyes, ears and throat - and I’m told that the pollen count is very high at the moment.

As I was leaving Leightons, Kate, the Manager, told me that she had been sent to Barcelona to the Etnia HQ for two days and had seen some beautiful designer sunglasses, so she decided to treat herself.  Much like Apple products, these came in a beautiful box, with a leather case and a beautiful chain to hold the glasses - which I rather liked too!  Maybe I should get one when I have to purchase my reading glasses!  Perhaps Mr. HCB might like to take me to Barcelona for a couple of days - maybe I should just drop a gentle hint!  Anyway, Kate is modelling her “designer sunnies” at the bottom left of the collage and very fetching she looks too.

Always a pleasure to go into Leightons, and they even gave me a John Lewis voucher for recommending our neighbour, Lynn - so what’s not to like?

It’s been a busy day already, and I’m out at Worship Group Practice tonight, ready for the Baptismal Service on Sunday morning - so I’d better get a wiggle on!

P.S. Forgot to say I gave Gill a heart - and she was pleased - so good to be able to bless people in this way!
