Life in a Northern Town

Lucerne

We left the mountains behind - see extras for a final hurrah from The Eiger, and also of the north face windows that were very visible this morning in the sun.

We took the panoramic train to Lucerne - it was stunning, lakes and mountains, waterfalls and valleys - beautiful. It’s very hard to take photographs from a moving train so in extras is one of John enjoying the view. There was a nice surprise when we reversed out of Brienz up a really steep hillside, and we got to see the wonderful view we’d just passed, this time from above. Splendid and I’d highly recommend it.

Lucerne is lovely - the main Blip is Sarah with a couple of extras of one of the covered bridges. Goodness me it was hot - around 30 degrees - we were really flagging. We decided to head on to Zurich - where it’s even hotter, but we have AC in the hotel room at least.

So far I’ve seen the Bahnhof and the inside of the hotel but we hope to correct that tomorrow - if we can cope with the heat. Quite how I’m going to get my Läderach chocolate supplies in this weather I just don’t know.
