Who knew that dragonflies like lemonade?

Photo captured on my patio as I enjoyed a quiet day reading by the pool on this first day of Kurban Bayram, the sacred feast of sacrifice. Town was very busy with holiday makers and for various reasons I prefer to spend the day at home.

Video call with Robin this afternoon and flights are now booked. We'll meet at Istanbul airport at the end of July when I finish teaching summer school, and travel to Akbuk together where she'll stay with me for ten days. Yay.

Early evening and Rufus and I walked to the sea front, which was still very busy with day trippers. Turks really do picnic in style - I must try and get a photo.  It's now almost routine for Rufus and I to end our stroll at Pasa restaurant for a salad and a beer, while I read my book and Rufus flirts with other diners.
