Life in Sunny Dubai

Determined

(17/6/24 - I am attempting to catch up on a week's worth of blips!)

So, another new work week begins. It is the last one before we have a break for the "big" Eid next week.

I set to, tackling whatever had come over the weekend etc. The usual Monday drill. During one of my breaks, I decided to make a Wish List of the gadgets I have wanted to upgrade for ages (think decades) but have always put it off. Today, as I made my list, I thought to myself, hang on, I have a lot of these things - they just need to be repaired, so (as Susanna would say), suddenly, a trolley had been packed with the soundbar and sub-woofer, a DVD player, a Discman, a JBL Flip 3 and last but not least, the Technics amp which I bought off my brother-in-law in 1996! That had to go into an IKEA bag. Gosh. I haven't felt so determined in ages.

G got home, and I finished my work day. Then headed out to the workshop that I had been made aware of. It doesn't just repair its own brand electronics, it does everything. True to their word, the guys in the shop looked carefully at everything I took in. They didn't reject anything (phew). It all happened so efficiently, there was time to race over to IKEA on the other side of town. It was the first time for me to use their Click & Collect service. I have to say, it was so easy, and again, so quick, that I might just opt to continue like that.

We were home much sooner than anticipated, so it was good to have a home-cooked meal. :))

I had my camera with me but didn't get the chance to use it, so I was glad I had taken a close-up of the very complex flame tree flower earlier in the day!
