Why did I come in here?

Old silt

Not a spelling mistake. I spent many hours looking at rocks while our garden was being rebuilt. A fascination with the way this planet has changed, grown, sunk, tilted and continues to mystify us is keeping my leeeeetle grey cells rotating in their box.

This is a shard from a pile of rubble that was due to go to landfill. Instead the pile ended up filling the huge wallow in a farm gateway. I could not ditch this piece. It portrays a period of tides which happened millennia ago, mean nothing to most people but shaped our bit of land.

21 images in Helicon Focus, circumference about 4.5 cm. How many layers of old silt though?
