A time for everything

Watching the birds

The temperature jumped up about ten degrees from yesterday to reach a high today of about 91F (33C), and it’s only going to get hotter, forecast to reach a high of 97F (36C) on Friday! I think I will be spending a lot of time at home in the air conditioning, or other air-conditioned buildings this week! Our Sunday began, as always with church, celebrating the Fathers or father figures amongst us. This afternoon I watched the England Serbia Euro Cup game. Roger watched part of it, but was also doing some little jobs on the side. I thought England started off well, and managed to score a goal, but then they deteriorated, while the Serbians got stronger, but England just managed to keep their lead. The game was rather interrupted for us, as both girls called during the match to wish Roger a Happy Father’s Day!
Just before I started preparing dinner, I sat out on the patio with my camera, watching the birds - the patio being in shade by this time, and the temperature comfortable! At the top you have the male and female cardinals, while on the lower row, L to R, a juvenile red-winged blackbird, the red bellied woodpecker, and two house finches. Later, when we were eating outside, we also had visits from blue jays, the pileated woodpecker, a cowbird, chickadees and a tufted titmouse!
