I decided to get the earlier Pentland ferry, on loan from Orkney, on account of the forecast. Sure enough shortly after I’d blipped the Sleephuts, they’re the chalets in the background, it started to rain.

The torrential rain on Thursday had highlighted a leak in the super light weight rain jacket I’ve inherited. I’m hoping the Tenacious Tape recommended by Cotswold Outdoor will do the trick.
