Between fen and mountains

Festi Conflent

The bell ringing was one of the attractions as advertised for the Festi Conflent in the park. It seems we were competing with the drum band from the local town who could be heard all over the village. We had some visitors and explained the principles of English change ringing and wee also scored a first with the local band ringing both Cateractonium doubles and the new method designed and named after the village by the last visiting band. For those interested (very few!) it is Saint Faith Place doubles with an Old Thumper single. It was particularly tricky to ring. After the ringing, I went over to the park to listen to the drummers and taste some Coscoll offered by the local confrerie. I also spotted the quaint Little Yellow Train roundabout entirely powered by leg muscle.
