Damsel in distress

Not for the squeamish. This damselfly had clearly flown herself into terminal trouble.
nearly all gone !

This gory scene happened in the lovely little Nature Reserve near to M & S Tamworth. I had a marvellous hour or so being shown round by Tammiegirl

There was so much to see. Hundreds and hundreds (and we're not exaggerating) of small tortoiseshell butterflies.

As well as a visitng heron - here in flight
and the head of a Great Crested Grebe as it tries to peer out of the algae.

Part of the way round, we bumped into Ken who was also visiting the reserve for the first time.

It's an amazing place. It was wonderful weather - and a splendid blipmeet.

And John Lewis café afterwards was just right
Thank you.
