Lichfield Festival

There's an annual Festival in Lichfield and its that time of year again. I took this photo of the detail of one of the carvings on the front of the Cathedral when I went for a morning recital in the Lady Chapel.

For me the greatest delight is hearing the very best of our young musical talent in the magnificent surroundings and acoustics of the Cathedral.

Another talented Scot this morning. Cellist Philip Higham, born and trained in Edinburgh, played cello suites by Bach and Britten.

There's a violinist tomorrow morning. I really rather fancy another classical fix (and while the stained glass is away for restoration you don't even miss the sun).
