Village Day

Bookham Village Day was its usual happy event despite frequent bouts of torrential rain. N drove me there and just as I arrived the heavens opened with very cold rain. I made my way across the wet slippery grass to the WI stall where my friends were busy covering up the cakes in an attempt keep them dry. I took a few photographs to put on the WI website. Meanwhile the crowds thronged and the little band played jolly music.
It was very different from the splendid military music played at Trooping The Colour which I had watched on tv before I came out. Two lovely British events.
