Sea Shanty 1
The excitement for Sea Shanty has been building all week. Saw a client this morning then hit the town at 2 to get good seats for The Longest Johns at the Church St stage. Caught local star Will Keating with the combined primary schools choir which was fab. Then 2 more shanty groups while it rained.
The rain stopped for The Longest John’s set - a lucky dip set which was brilliant. Then tipped down for their last song.
We headed to a pub to dry out, or our friends left so MrRoly headed to The Greenbank to watch Bryher’s Boys. We timed it perfectly to get into the marque before they closed it off and the world’s longest queue turned. Round 2 of The Longest Johns - this time we were much drier. They continued their lucky dip so it was a completely different set.
By now Eldest and 1 housemate had arrived along with our neighbours so we joined up with them to go to The Moor to try and see The Oggymen but arrived too late so settled in the Penny. We headed out to wait further Eldest’s 2nd housemate to turn up and accidentally ended up in the taxi rank line so called it a night and headed home 10.30!!
