TROOPING THE COLOUR - A VERY SPECIAL DAY
Hello Lovely Blippers,
We wanted to go out into the garden but it was raining, so we are watching Trooping the Colour on television, as you can see, sitting on top of Mr. HCB’s jigsaw puzzle table.
This is a very special day to celebrate the King’s Official Birthday and there are thousands of people in London watching - and of course, we are watching with the HCBs. It was good to see King Charles III and also Queen Camilla in a beautiful carriage and also Catherine, the Princess of Wales with her three children in another. We didn’t actually see Prince William, but understand he was riding a horse somewhere in the parade.
We wondered why Mr and Mrs HCB kept standing up when a certain piece of music was played; then we realised it was the National Anthem, “God Save the King”, and because Mr. HCB’s grandfather always stood up many years ago, they do it now too! Mind you, after it had been played about six times, I think they were both quite tired after all the standing up and sitting back down and actually, that is the only silly part of this.
I think they will need to have a rest because they are going to a birthday party this afternoon where there will be lots of children running around. We would like to go, but Mrs. HCB said that she’s not sure if we would all come home again, so best if we stay here and look after the house.
We think that dear Admirer would love all the pomp and ceremony and we know our Irish friends would be interested to know that the colours trooped this year are from the Irish Guards, who are there with their regimental mascot, Seamus, an Irish wolfhound.
Please remember to BE KIND this week - you never know what someone is going through - and you being kind may be just the thing they need.
Love to you all
