Country House opera

My old school friend Catherine invited us to the Grange to see The Coronation of Poppea,  a Monteverdi opera.  But of course this is not what these events are really about.  The weather being as usual terrible, windy and rainy at times, we had tea in a little tent and then watched hours of early baroque opera before having a lovely dinner cooked and brought by Catherine in the 100 minute interval before slightly fewer hours of early baroque opera.  The middle bit was fun but three hours of early baroque opera was a bit niche.

Still, it was nice to see everyone, Catherine set us up with great style and she and Jan were amazing generous hosts.  And we could dream of doing the whole thing on sun drenched lawns another year.  But maybe watching an opera with with tunes…

In the morning i had to go to London and do the final mix of ep 3.  Another one nearly in the bag.
