Summer Visitor Hikes
Windy, wet and overcast all day. Low cloud hanging over the hills.
Up early, headed to work in the airport. A day mostly working on the check-in desk, soaked on the ramp at one point. Most flights on time, apart from cancelled Inverness/Kirkwall. Popped by Laura's on my way home. Kitty is fairly growing, and she has opened her eyes, too wriggly for a right photo. A wet walkies with Sammy, and then the Scotland match lived up to the depressing weather. Quiet night by the fire.
Come for a walking holiday to Shetland, they said, Shetland is ideal for hiking, they read. You do have to feel for visitors to the isles on days like this, but they weren't put off from seeing the place. It's looking slightly better tomorrow, hopefully a better week next week. As they say, no such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing choices, they made the right choice here. After a hike up to the lighthouse, this women now making their way back down the hill. Taken at Sumburgh Head.
