Rest day

A rest day - and a very wet one to start with. Had breakfast int he campervan parked up in Lidls car park in Kirkwall. Oh the glamour and adventure of van life!
I spent some quiet time exploring the museum in town - good to get some timelines on all the history I’ve been seeing, and also updates on Ness of Brodgar. Excavations are still underway at this site over the summer and will then close up for the foreseeable future whilst the mass of current findings are analysed and processed. Findings from 5000 years ago makes our own bits of recent history seem such a small blip in the scheme of things
