Dog rose

Nick and I went to the Community Orchard to do a bit f work. Nick was laying a long strip of rubber specially designed to seal garage doors (but we are not a garage, just an open fronted shed) t try and stop the. Ingress of rain water. We will see how effective it is because rain is forecast for this afternoon, during the night, and into tomorrow morning. Meanwhile I did a bit of weeding in the raised bed where we have leeks, beans and potatoes planted. One of the other volunteers has visited and done a lot of strimming to deal with the bracken.
Although it was a dull day, followed by (welcome) rain in the afternoon and evening, this beautiful Dog Rose brightened up the day.
Later we went out for a most enjoyable meal locally with friends P and A. It has been quite some time since Nick and I have been out to a restaurant and I found the choice of food (many of the raw ingredients being locally sourced) very enticing, making my decision difficult. At the end of the evening, I was very happy with my decisions..
