Oasis

A bookshop is one of the best places to head towards for calm and tranquility, so this is where I headed at Dar es Salaam airport when I was feeling overwhelmed by recent work dramas. Despite the fact I am still hauling around the tome that is War and Peace, I even made a snap purchase.

I am going to Mozambique for a week to join the team for annual planning, and it is an extremely welcome trip. The journey was smooth and when I arrived in Maputo I called a taxi using the popular app Yango. The driver happened to be Valter, who shipped me around on a journey during my last visit. We had another spirited chat about travel, places, countries and cultures. It was the perfect re-entry to the charm of Maputo, which I find to be leagues ahead of Dar es Salaam when it comes to likeability.

The evening was spent milling around the hotel, preparing for the upcoming week and relaxing after the journey.
