A delivery for the calves
This morning this big truck arrived with 'post peel' on it. The peel is used in our calf sheds, for the calves to rest on. With less then a month to go until the official start of calving, we like to have our calf sheds ready, in case we get an early arrival or two.
Being wet over the last few days, the ground is very soft and muddy. The truck driver tried to back his truck to dump the load, but became stuck. Farmerboy had to get his tractor out, and tow the truck to firmer ground.
It has been a wet and cold afternoon. It is currently 5.10pm and 4.4 degrees C. Our high for the day was 5.4 degrees - thank goodness I could spend most of the afternoon inside in front of the fire.
