OSS
The Official Summer Soup season has begun.
Today I kicked off with Lithuanian šaltibarščiai. Delicious, although I say so myself. Why faff about with false modesty? It is served with boiled new potatoes - on the side so they do not warm up the soup.
I will be peeing purple well into the weekend. You read about it here first.
My other big activity today was my Midweek Workout - a slightly scaled back version to allow for a bit of recovery for my legs and hips after yesterday's stress testing. I enjoyed it and I am glad I forced myself out to do it.
That mental toughness is definitely one of the positive outcomes of my Parkrun addiction.
The tranquility of the park this morning is what I tried to capture in my Extra.
Footnote
I always warn against trying to pronounce "šaltibarščiai" unless you have received suitable professional advice. Otherwise you risk damaging your tongue. The same applies to the cities Šiauliai and Panevėžys.
