Big Push

I have 17km left now to put in on my fundraiser, and 3 days left to do it.

Today involved a big effort to put in a good number and bring the target down to that feasible level. But what a wonderful day it turned out to be.

I took a Megabus to Pitlochry and hiked up across the Bealach na Searmon to Killicrankie, then back to Pitlochry along the River Garry. I brought my target down by 17km. It was hard work at times (80 minutes uphill at the start and then that last 2km) but always enjoyable.

I had 30 minutes to wait for my bus back, and The Old Mill Inn was right beside the bus stop, so one thing led to another. Cromarty Brewing's Red Rocker is excellent. I knew that from my short break in that part of the country a few years ago. It got Blipped.

One Extra is where I sat to eat my picnic lunch - a selection of goodies from The Bakery in Pitlochry. The other is the signpost taking me away from the hill (good climb but not enough kilometres) and over the pass.

I will be doing very little tonight except to chill and think of Françoise Hardy - my first crush as a teenager.
