The Day of the Triffids
Mostly dull again today, I did sit out for a while, but it wasn't ideal - quite breezy.
More gardening again - mostly dealing with deck pots and troughs. Replaced the spring bedding with lobelia, silver cineraria, nemesia and sweet peas to climb the trellis. Again, I potted up all the polyanthus as they were rather special - hope to use them next year, or I might add to the planting down by the roadside.
In passing I lifted the lid of last year's compost bin - I've not looked in there for ages. To my surprise I thought we'd been invaded by triffids, though they weren't actually rattling! These bracken stems have grown up through the compost and were struggling to get out! My Blip today.
There was a touch of drizzle in the air, so I used it as an excuse to come in and have a cuppa!
Quote of the Day: 'You don't seriously suggest that they're talking when they make that rattling noise.' ― John Wyndham, 'The Day of the Triffids'.
