Sand on Sanday

A rare glimpse of sun today here on Sanday - but still blowing a hooley.
We paid the community cafe a visit for a cuppa and cake - managed to sit outside, sheltered from the wind.
Drove north up the island, past Norma’s honesty box full of delicious treats. We bought several cakes to keep us going.
Our goal today was a beach walk out along a string of massive dunes to another headland. It was so nice to have some sun for the walk and see the blues of the sea. But still so windy and we were able to walk on the outside of the dunes for a little shelter. We saw the dunes from the ferry when we crossed to Sanday - they looked like sky scrapers, so good to get up close. Also got a good exfoliation from the sand blast.
