The battle of heart and mind

After a decently long but two-part sleep I headed into town for office day part 3, hauling a metric tonne of IT and clothes and sundries in my panniers.  Quite a nice ten or so miles in though.

The day went ever so slowly at first but I got through it ok.  I learned my lesson yesterday and made sure I had a seat this time.  An early finish was called for because I was still really tired, and I winched my way home.  There was some sort of incident halfway and the Police had closed the road, so I had to do a big diversion that added a couple of miles of hills.

It meant though that I passed the big pond, so without any photographs to my name I stopped to see the swans.  I was saddened to see that two of the five cygnets – only a month old – are missing.  Judging by the piles of big white feathers scattered up and down the path alongside the waterline, I think I can guess why, and I am Not Impressed. *big scowl*

A microshop on the way home from the pond brought me some salad, which I have followed with the mandatory cups of tea.
