I prefer the bud.

      Poor old thing - showing its age?  Alice fancied a Standard years ago.  I've lost count of the number of years I've removed one, occasionally two suckers from well below the graft, from the Stock.
      I haven't trawled back for a decent shot of the flower, in the Plant's youth but, currently I'm a touch underwhelmed by the fully open flower; centre shot of these three.
