I had a hospital run to do today, but the car park was full so I couldn't lurk there so I took to the nearby allotments – always ripe for a bliportunity.

I am having to adjust my photo technique as this new camera has image stabilisation, allowing me to use slower than normal shutter speeds.  I could have set the ND filter, opened up the aperture and used a slower shutter to get a more blurred flag . . . but I didn't; life on Blipfoto is full of images that might have been.

The hospital runs have consisted entirely of the same patient so far.  He has worked in many countries (although at what has been difficult to pin down) and he met his wife on a VSO year in Guyana, decades ago.  He listens patiently to my stories as well so our hospital journeys go very quickly.  He is as concerned at the state of the political world as am I.  It's a very rewarding way to volunteer.
