Baby Killdeer

It's always a thrill to hear the Killdeers; it's a cry that takes me right back to the North Dakota farm country more than most other bird calls. The Mourning Dove comes in second. We watched two frantic parents coaxing their babies to hide, I expect, but this little one darted out onto the path, a perfect replica of the adults.
