A morning at Portland Works, to help steward a photographic exhibition in memory of a Photo Society member (Linda) who died of cancer a while ago.  Here, her husband is chatting to the manager of the exhibition space, while his companion watches me carefully.  The display on the right is about Portland Works itself, while the sequence of Linda's images starts to the left.
We had quite a few visitors, and I think this has all been a helpful process for Linda's husband, as well as her friends. It's a lovely exhibition.
Portland Works itself is a complex of C19th buildings which was saved from unsympathetic redevelopment/destruction by a committed volunteer group some years ago.  The complex now has Grade II listed status and operates as a community enterprise, hosting a range of artists' studios, community spaces and small businesses.  Altogether it's an inspiring story - there's more here, for anyone who'd like a browse:

Amid the flurry of pre-election promises and mud-slinging, it felt good to escape into this space, with its gentle light and the array of Linda's beautiful images.
