The Mercury capsule that took the first American into space (just).

Went for a run first thing before it got too warm.  It was still too warm.  Worked for a bit, then went to see some museums. 

The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian had some interesting artefacts and very complex history to deal with - not one I understand well, let alone the current politics.  I found it a bit uncomfortable.  Especially the shop with white people selling plastic facsimiles of indigenous art and artefacts.

The Smithsonian National Air and Space museum is being refurbished and more than half was closed.  I greatly enjoyed the section on the Wright Brothers, and the space race to the moon.

Now on a flight to Atlanta.
