Champagne
A miserable wet morning, so much is we took the car to church which is rare.
It had stopped and brightened a bit when the service was over so I walked home whilst Chris did a few of his finishing off chores - counted the collection etc.
I’d noticed the rose I bought and planted for Eda ( so I think if it as my Eda rose) had started to flower in the front garden, it’s called ‘Champagne Moment’ and thought it looked pinker than usual so I took a couple of pictures of it when I arrived home. We thought this rose had died soon after first planting so we have a replacement one in a pot in the back garden. Popped round to see how it was doing and as you can see it’s at about the same stage but definitely more the creamy colour we expect.
These aren’t our first roses in bloom in the garden, the climber ‘Mai Gold’ is always the first and was well out when we got back from Scotland. It grows up and over the garage roof from beside the kitchen window. The lovely blooms have been pretty heavily battered by the recent weather. Many petals end up on the other side of the garage on the kitchen doorstep and filter into the kitchen on feet!
The sunny spell didn't last and the heavy showers have returned, not much of a Sunday for June. A few of our older members of the congregation were complaining about the cold, I’m not surprised.
Sad to hear they have found a body in their search for Dr Michael Mosley that is likely to be him. Maybe the other extreme of weather ( 40 degrees +) on the Island of Symi in the Ciclades will be part of the cause.
