Sgwarnog: In the Field

Fair

I took advantage of the football off-season to pop into Leeds for a record fair at Kirkgate Market.

I approach record fairs as a music fan with ever evolving and inclusive tastes, rather than as an investor/collector, so most of the time I can be found digging through the four for a tenner crates rather seeking out high value rarities.  This fair is a huge one, and I barely scratched the surface, but gathered a few things to enjoy listening to.

When I’d had enough I left the market at the nearest available exit, and found myself on George Street facing an attractively lit Victoria Gate quarter, including the John Lewis building.  I thought the building facades looked great against the blue sky.

I’m not usually in Leeds on a Saturday, and it was heaving so I was happy to just head straight back to the station and home.

To continue with the music theme: 35yo today, 08/06/89, The Stone Roses at Lancaster Sugarhouse. A packed small venue just about the time the band exploded.
