Day at a Time

This morning we decided to do a particular walk by the river. In 2020, during the first lockdown spring, I frequently did this walk and I remember fondly the beautiful orchids growing on the grassland in the river loop. It's more than a year since I last took this path. Great to see the orchids still doing well amongst the buttercups.

I've had to cut down some of the tall plants in the garden. I'm disappointed because I love the height in the borders but the wind has done for quite a few. The angelica has had it but it should come back next year. It was just too heavy to cope. It's still really windy today but it's dry and sunny.

After the orchid walk we carried on into Bridge of Allan but, unlike Tuesday, we opted for a bus back. Now home and I'd better head out into the garden to see what further damage might have occurred.
