DAVE DAY

Went into town this morning, usual shopping etc done.  Got this photo on the Prom at about 10.30ish this morning.  It was blowy but pleasant.

We saw just a few bikers heading off to join the majority at Burton-in-Kendal services on the M6.  I have been very sorely tempted to try and find a spot along the A590 to photograph them as they go past, but there will be so many people doing that that it will be very difficult to park, and I decided not to add to the road chaos as just stay home. I will catch it on the TV later.  At least they've got a reasonable day for it.  I hope all goes to plan and everyone enjoys the vibrancy that will make Barrow very noisy but very happy tonight. 

I did contemplate  getting the train to Barrow so I could see it all, but I am not good in crowds.  Northern are supposed to have been stepping  up to the mark to provide good transport links for those that want it, but  already there have been  at  least two cancellations so I'm not going to risk  not being able to get back, otherwise I'd have to go and share Fletch's bed  for the night and he might  object to that!!!!!

There is another steam train scheduled to go through  Kents Bank today, quite a bit later, not due to leave Carlisle until 15:30 so  I'm guessing it will be going past about 6.45, so we will probably go down to see that.  Hope there aren't as many  folk as last week, but if there is then so be it.
