Bridge

Had a very good night's sleep with The Custodian, then went round the abbey with him as he opened up all the doors - although personally chickened out from the full climb up the tower. The weather was very inclement - chilly, with rain squalls and a strong westerly. Got the first Maid back to Hawes pier and went up to Dalmeny via the steps of doom - a stiff climb but it got me out of the wind. I was puzzled by the three Italian girls going up just ahead of me who seemed to have come out the Hawes Inn but were dressed as if for a hen party. It wasn't until I was on the 43 back in to town that I realised they must be Swifties - a lot of young persons in spangly garments (some highly unflattering). Leith seemed fairly free of them. Oh, lawks, it's Gala day tomorrow.

I love this glimpse of the Forth Bridge, looking up through the trees.
