Sequatchie Valley

We were up early, had breakfast and headed south. The trip was uneventful and took around five hours. We stopped at that gigantic fuel station called Buc-ee’s where gas was significantly cheaper than regular stations. We had lunch at a friendly Mexican restaurant; I could only eat half of my meal. We arrived early so we took a scenic drive to find our church for Sunday Mass. This cute truck was advertising the concrete statuary shop on the property. You can see the mountains in the background. They completely surround the valley. I feel so at peace in mountain country. The siblings and their families have all arrived and are settling in. Hubby’s brother and SIL drove down from Rochester, NY, the oldest sister, her adult daughter and new significant other are from Meridian, MS and the youngest sister, her hubby and their adult daughter drove from Fredericksburg, VA. The home we are renting is amazing. It is spacious with five bedrooms and accompanying baths. The place is completely stocked with everything we could possibly need. We are going out tonight since folks are tired from driving. Our SIL has volunteered to cook tomorrow evening. So, our weekend is starting off really nicely. I hope yours is as well. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “One sees great things from the valley; only small things from the peak. “ - Gilbert K. Chesterton
